Mr. Hunky’s Sexy Wild Man Soap

?? bars

?? oz. mold

Fats Mixture:

  • 15 oz coconut oil
  • 6 oz shea butter
  • 15 oz olive oil
  • 12 oz almond oil
  • 1.5 oz castor oil

Lye Solution:

  • 15 oz distilled water
  • 7.2 oz lye (sodium hydroxide)

Colorants & Exfoliant:

  • 1 Tbsp turmeric powder (colorant)
  • 2 Tbsp ground cinnamon (colorant/exfoliant)

Essential Oil Blend:

  • 1.5 oz cedar wood
  • 1 oz cinnamon
  • 0.5 oz lemongrass

Step 1:  Fats Mixture

  • Set crock pot on HOT setting.
  • Measure and put fats into crock pot.
  • Melt down the solid fats then set crock pot to KEEP WARM setting.

Step 2: Lye Solution

  1. Measure water into glass container.
  2. Measure lye in separate glass container.
  3. Take water & lye outside with wooden spoon.
  4. Pour your lye slowly into the water and mix well.
  5. This mixture will be HOT.

NOTE:  It is VERY important to pour the lye INTO the water and not the other way around.  If you pour water on top of the lye, you may end up with a caustic volcano.

Step 3:

  1. Once fats are melted, add turmeric colorant to crock pot.

Step 4:

  1. Gently pour lye solution into fats in crock pot.
  2. Use immersion blender to mix to light trace (looks like pudding with a gentle peak).

Step 5:

  1. Put the lid on crock pot and heat on KEEP WARM setting. Check at 15 min and every 5 min after until the mixture reaches first fold (the mixture grows and folds into itself).
  2. Using wooden spoon, stir the mixture down.

Step 6:

  1. Continue stirring every 15 minutes until the soap mixture reaches a translucent waxy stage (looks kind of like vaseline)
  2. Once to this stage, take some soap mixture off of your wooden spoon and roll it between 2 fingers. It should feel like warm wax.
  3. ZAP test: Once small wax ball is cool enough, touch to the tip of your tongue.  If you feel a “zap” on your tongue, heat another 15 min and try again until there’s no “zap.”

Step 7:

  1. Turn off the crock pot, and allow to cool down to max 190 degrees with the lid off.
  2. Pour essential oils into soap mixture and use wooden spoon to stir.
  3. Pour ground cinnamon in and just stir it around a bit leaving chunks of dark color

Step 8:

  1. Use spatula to pour mixture into 2 POUND and 1 POUND soap molds.
  2. Bang soup mold on countertop to remove air pockets.
  3. Press mixture down well with spatula completely fill-in corners of mold.

Step 9:

  1. Let cool completely for several hours.
  2. After soap is completely cooled down, take it out of the mold and let it sit overnight
  3. You can cut it as you need it, or you can cut it into bars right away.
  4. Allow hot process soap to cure for a day before using it.
